1. What is the difference between SewWhat! and SewWhat Pro!?
SewWhat! and SewWhat Pro! both share the same editing, converting, viewing, and monogramming features.
SewWhat Pro! extends the features of SewWhat! to include "reading" and "writing" colour text files. SewWhat Pro! s colour palette retains the file types used by machine manufacturers, includes the thread charts produced by thread manufacturers, and allows you to create your own!
2. Designs are available in my format, why would I consider a format converter?
If you own, for example, a Janome machine that uses the JEF format, and decide to purchase a BabyLock machine that uses the PES format, SewWhat! can convert your existing designs for you, enabling you to use your designs in both machines!
3. Colours are still not showing up correctly in my machine, after I convert with SewWhat!
Embroidery machines will only read their file type palette. By using SewWhat Pro!, you can choose how you want your design to look by your thread manufacturer. You can print your design with the project panel and bring this list to your machine, for easy reference. You also have the capabilities to convert from your thread manufacturers colour palette, to your machine manufactureres colour palette, by clicking on the Brand tab.
4. My brand is not available in the thread list.
SewWhat Pro! will allow you to create your own thread list. This list will then become available when clicking on the Brand tab.
5. What is the advantage of having a text file?
If your purchased design does not have a colour chart, you can create one in SewWhat Pro!. Once the text file is created, the colours will show correctly, every time you open the design in SewWhat!. If your purchased design does come with a standard format text file, SewWhat Pro! will "read" this file and show your colours correctly from the start. This is for any format!
6. I have a desktop computer at home, a laptop in my trailer and another desktop computer at my cottage. Do I need to purchase this program 3 times?
No, you don't. The license allows for one user on multiple computers so that you can enjoy the program wherever you are!
